PREPARE FOR THE SEASON OF PLUNDER THAT IS COMING

The Lord spoke to us and said that He is preparing to release the blessing of king Jehoshaphat on His people. As the world is experiencing trouble and insecurity, God will start pouring His favour on His people in a way that has never been experienced before.

But, the eyes of His people have to be fixed on Him and His promises, and not on the circumstances.

The Lord has seen your faithfulness in the battles and is going to take over and defeat your enemies, as He did for king Jehoshaphat, and, instead of fighting, you will collect the spoils of the battles.

The season of the plunder is now at hand and, a transition has now begun. God is taking all of us individually and corporately, out of the Valley of the Battle and into the Valley of the Blessing!

Lets rejoice for the world and our enemies will know that God is for us and not against us. The manifestation of this reality will be a sign and a wonder in itself causing many to come to us for refuge, and as a result, many will find salvation.

“Invocation” by Ben Moss; Madison Greer: Voice, Amy Tai: Piano

Friday, July 9th, 2010

This is a piece I wrote for the “Outside the Box” composition competition in the Harvard Music Department. It did not win, but here it is for your listening pleasure! It uses the text from Siegfried Sassoon’s poem “Invocation”, posted below. Thanks and congrats to Madison Greer ‘13 and Amy Tai ‘13 for doing a great job with it!

Invocation

Come down from heaven to meet me when my breath
Chokes, and through drumming shafts of stifling death
I stumble toward escape, to find the door
Opening on morn where I may breathe once more
Clear cock-crow airs across some valley dim
With whispering trees. While dawn along the rim
Of night’s horizon flows in lakes of fire,
Come down from heaven’s bright hill, my song’s desire.

Belov’d and faithful, teach my soul to wake
In glades deep-ranked with flowers that gleam and shake
And flock your paths with wonder. In your gaze
Show me the vanquished vigil of my days.
Mute in that golden silence hung with green,
Come down from heaven and bring me in your eyes
Remembrance of all beauty that has been,
And stillness from the pools of Paradise.

Why aren’t Indian school children taught that Pathans who invaded Kashmir in 1947 were former I N A s who …?

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

worked with Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose during World War – 2 & Netaji’s close friends too ? Akbar Khan, Habiburrahman Khan, Hasan Khan & Nek Alam Khan ,… were few of them. They were from NWFP province & Poonch district of Kashmir state. Why is this fact deliberately hidden by Indian media from public ? They invaded Kashmir on 22 nd October, 1947 because, the then Kashmir’s so called illegal king Hari Singh already had called Indian Patiala Sikh Infantry which landed Srinagar secretly by air on 19 th July, 1947(Anil Athale’s article in Sunday Observer, a weekly from Mumbai, dated 26 th October 1997 p. 2 , titled ‘The Genesis of Border Dispute’), 17 th October 1947( Prof Alastair Lamb’s & Stanley Wolpert’s books separately & secret British records) & killing locals in large numbers( external aggression). Moreover, same Maharaja ordered massacre & elimination of all Muslims of entire Jammu Zone too before October 1947 & after finishing that task do same thing in Kashmir Valley (having 97 % Muslims) to completely change tthe demography of the state as Maharajas of Patiala, Faridkot, Nabha & Kapurthala did successfully too to make the way clear for forced ‘accession’ & later, merger to India. Accession could be done in a highly controversial manner but MERGER COULD NOT BE DONE so far.
Why is not CORRECT & COMPLETE history hidden & DELIBERATELY kept out of school text books ? Even J & K state’s history text books remain silent on that, why ?
Why is entire detail of Most Tyrannical period i.e., DOGRA RAJ 1846 – 1947 AD is EMPTIED OUT of the books too as if nothing happened ?
Will opening the facts about Tribal Pathans decrease prestige of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose & Indian National Army(INA) itself too ?
All 80,000 Kashmiri Pathans of Poonch were militarily trained during WW – 2 with INA too. Sardar Mohammed Abdul Qaiyoom Khan, M.A.(86 years old) is still alive who holds distinction of firing the FIRST SHOT in any Indo-Pak War & so, has the title MUJAHIDE AUWAL(First Holy Warrier) in AZAD KASHMIR. As reports say, he single handedly killed > 1000 Indian soldiers.
It is said that b coz of those former INA’s, Netaji’s friends’ efforts, Azad Kashmir is free from current tyrannical clutches of India now.
Why should not these facts be known to people of India ?
What is the hidden agenda behind this act & That too in present multimedia revolution in which nothing can remain secret ? Is it real democracy, FREEDOM OF SPEECH & so called OPENNESS ?
Why are politicians putting so much censors on so old events ?
Will such censorship make Indian LEGAL position on Kashmir stronger ?

The Wonder Book : ‘Kashmir In Conflict’ by Victoria Scofield, Amazon Books, USA, has already published all things about a decade ago too. To add an insult to India’s injury, texts are available on internet too. People have already taken print outs, demolishing all secrecies. No Indian TV channel ever discusses on that.
To M : who believes concocted stories of Indian movies ?
Most of Indian establishments opine that India lost Azad Kashmir in 1947 only b coz of existence of Azd Hind fauj(INA), otherwise, whole Kashmir would have been with India, but that is WRONG b coz strong rebellion of people of Kashmir agaist hereditary most tyrannical Dogra rulership started from 1946 itself & had Congress not supported morally & militarily secretly that rulership, WHOLE Kashmir was already going out of India’s hands before freedom.
Pathans are very good people. indian movies are mostly made by Hindus who are born communal & talk non sense about Pathans.
To Raj : U have zero IQ & knowledge of Kashmir history too. The 100 year ‘hereditary ‘Dogra Raj was started from 16 th March 1846 under ‘Amritsar Treaty’ between British & Dogra Gulab Singh by selling all abt 7,00,000 Kashmiri human beings at the rate of Rupees 7.00 per person like CATTLES(inhuman). At that time , OFFICIALLY, there was no British Govt at Delhi. Only East india Company , having no power of taking political decision. 100 year ended on 15 th March, 1946,& so, Dogra Raj too ended. After that date, DICTATOR & NOT PUBLIC REPRESENTATIVE Hari Singh had no authority on the state to sign anything like accession. before him, the ruler Pratap Singh died ended in 1925, having no child & so, illegal Dogra Raj ended then itself too(as per ‘Treaty’). He, illegally, nominated his brother’s son for succession but Hari Singh, entered his bedroom at 2.00 AM & at gunpoint, got his signature on a paper to become ruler. Hari NEVER signed instrument. UNSC declared that illegal.

Because Indian education system is pathetic.

DARK HOURS OF THE SOUL
by Dr. Harold Sala
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me, Psalm 23:4, NKJV

Almost every person goes through a period of life which my friend, Marilyn Nelson, describes as “the dark hours of the soul.” It is when the skies seem to be brass, and you pray and there is no answer; or you cry out, “Why, God?” and all you hear is the echo of your voice. Naturally, no one in his right mind would chose to face a time such as that, but nearly everyone does at some time or another.

There is an Arab proverb that says, “All sunshine makes a desert.” It is a loving Father who realizes that periods of darkness and showers of sadness bring forth the fruit of His character and nature. The dark hours of the soul only help us to hear our Father’s voice as He says, “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). Should you never face periods of darkness, you could never be absolutely certain that God’s grace is sufficient when you walk through the valley of the shadow of darkness. It was Madam Guyon who, many years ago, wrote, “I have learned to love the darkness of sorrow; there you see the brightness of His face.” And then who can estimate the good that can come by walking through the dark hours of the soul?

It is the etching of acid in the darkroom of the laboratory that produces the image on film. It is the fire that purges the dross from the silver. When the dark hours of the soul come upon you, sometimes you forget what you know to be true and begin to wonder whether God has singled you out for particularly harsh treatment. I have several guidelines which you may find profitable.

Guideline #1: Keep in mind that God promised to be with us in periods of trial–not simply to exempt us from them . Micah cried out “When I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me” (Micah 7:8, KJV ). One of my favorite promises is in Isaiah where God said, ” When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel , your Savior” (Isaiah 43:2-3).

Guideline #2: Realize that the sun is still shining, regardless how deep the gloom and darkness that confronts you . You have to hold on to the certainty of some things which you know and take them by faith regardless of the temperature of your heart. When romantic love gradually turns into mature, conjugal love, you do not doubt that you have been in love or that you are loved–you know that, no matter what happens–and so it is with our Father’s love.

Guideline #3: Trust God to accomplish what He pleases as you face those unpleasant dark hours . I am thinking of the words from Streams in the Desert : “Many a rapturous minstrel among those sons of light,/ will say of His sweetest music–I learned it in the night,/ And many a rolling anthem, that fills the Father’s home,/ Sobbed out its first rehearsal in the shade of a darkened room.”

Eventually darkness yields to light and questions to understanding. “If you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth comes knowledge and understanding” (Proverbs 2:3-6). One final thought. When you face the dark hours of the soul, you always feel so alone; but when you emerge with understanding, you find that He is sufficient.

Leslie Van Houten – Personal Letter From 09-28-2005

Monday, June 21st, 2010

This is a letter that Leslie Van Houten had written to me on September 28, 2005.

This was after I had already returned home to New York from my trip to Chatsworth California in late August of 2005.

This is an interesting letter because Leslie is looking back at pictures of the town of Monrovia where she grew up and she’s looking back on her early days before her life would be thrown into turmoil.

It’s the human side of her that many people just don’t get to see for themselves.

The reference to the “Gate and the Benches” are items that are at the old Spahn Ranch site now that were not there in Leslie’s time at the Spahn Ranch.

Also, on Page 2, Leslie comments about a smudge mark being on the paper that was put there when she was eating some pepperoni food item. :-) I like how she’s a stickler for details :-)

Also, the “Mark Twain” reference is about a statue of Mark Twain sitting on a bench that i saw across from a Pizza Parlor on Myrtle Avenue that i stopped off at to grab a bite to eat.

The reference to “The Shirt” is about the Light Blue Patterened shirt that i had on in the photographs that i sent to her while i was up at the old spahn ranch site.

The contents of the letter by page reads as follows:

Letter Transcript – Page 1:

Hi Jim,

Geez – I cannot believe another week has gone by. I would
imagine it is going to be a little crazy for me for the next
few weeks. But i have to admit – it’s been really good to
have something new – taking my mind somewhere else. This is a very challenging job and after all the newness we ars away. I believe i am really going to enjoy it.

I haven’t answered your letter fully yet and I hope to soon.
I mostly want you to know that I have really enjoyed the
pictures. The hotel is really nice. I have enjoyed seeing
all the changes in Monrovia.

———————————–
Letter Transcript – Page 2:

And then some buildings are clearly the same old ones. I
wonder why they have Mark Twain sitting there.
(Geez – I think that smudge is pepperoni fingers – sorry)
Anyway, I am surprised that Monrovia is so old. I should
have known it – or forgot it looks so pretty and not at all
how I felt it was when I was young – Thank you for sending
these pictures.

The Radisson is really nice – It all looks so nice. I know
I keep saying it but it’s all so clean. I’m used to the
dinge of prison. I didn’t realize.

I’m staying up to watch the news because the chatsworth/
Simi Valley area is on fire and I wanted to tell you
exactly where. You know the area better than I do these
days. The hills there are really lovely – I loved those rocks.

———————————–
Letter Transcript – Page 3:

I really was taken back by the beauty of the canyon photos.
You are right – the rock formations really are something to
see. No wonder you were so sunburned. You really did some serious hiking.

Back to Monrovia – Since when did theaters show so many
movies? How in the world does someone make up their minds? Who ever it was that kept Monrovia going certainly did a good job. It looks like a lovely little town. I wonder how
much impact the free way has on all that – ya know?

Did you ever use the pool or excercise room at the hotel?
I wonder how many people actually use rooms like that when they are on vacation?

Somehow, I just

———————————–
Letter Transcript – Page 4:

don’t think you did that much. Be honest now.

Ok the news is coming on. So – let me tell you what’s
burning.

1200 acres near chatsworth. Evacuation for Box Canyon.
Santa Susana Pass – It’s all the brush – you know? It’s so
dry there. Bell Canyon – which i have never heard of. Yeah,
it’s all the old brush – the chaparral – It’s really roaring
and we have the Santa Ana winds going on right now. Geez – here I am looking at these pictures and it is similar to the ones on TV that are burning. I like the ones with you
in them. Hey – I know that shirt – Kinda cool. Even though
you explained it – I couldn’t figure out the gates and
benches – oh well. I suppose that’s all progress.

Let me close for tonight. I will hopefully write soon.
You take care

Les
